1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
a. promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
d. model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments

1. List all that goes into planning for classroom instruction.
Instructional Strategies:
When I plan for classroom instruction, I think about the lesson that I am going to teach and how it relates to the unit I'm working on. I think about how I'm going to differentiate between lower students and higher students. I also think about the materials that I am going to need for the lesson. I look up the state standards and determine what part of my lesson is most important for my students to understand. I find a way to motivate the students for each lesson and determine the steps I'm going to follow to teach each lesson and unit. Also for each unit I decide types of projects to do with each unit.

2. List the types of projects and activities you use with your students.
Shoebox dioramas
Mobiles
Creating and describing a flower petal for adjectives
Making a kite for steps in a process
Making pinatas
Animal reports
Creating weather instruments
2a. Do your planned projects and activities include any of the following: project-based learning, authentic activities, higher order thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, creativity and innovation, and use of digital tools and resources? List all that apply.
My planned projects include project-based learning (shoeboxes and flower petals), problem-solving/steps-in-a-process (kites), creativity (pinatas, shoeboxes, flower petals), and digital tools (animal reports- word processing, trackstar).

3. List at least 3 ways that you can improve or would like to grow with regard to planning.

One way that I would like to grow with regards to planning is to include more digital tools in planned projects. Now that I've learned more of what is out there, I'd like to put it to use.
Another way I would like to grow in planning is to find more projects and activities that my students can do together. I hardly use any collaboration in the projects that I have the students do.
The last way I would like to grow is to use more rubrics in my planning process. I just recently started using rubistar and I would like to use it more with my students in the beginning of a project. This will give them more of an idea of what I am looking for.

4.List resources that can help you grow in this strategy.
Some Internet resources that I can use to help with planning include Rubistar.com, Thinkfinity.com, and Yodio.com. I can also use websites I've collected for ideas on collaborative projects.

Summary Statement for Strategy 1
Three ways that I would like to improve or grow with regards to planning include adding more digital tools to a unit, including more collaboration in a unit, and using more rubrics to plan a project outcome.

For step 3 above, write a summary statement. Include this statement on your Action Plan Summary page.
